I have asked a few people close to me to share guest posts in the coming weeks. They will be writing about whatever is on their heart. This one is from my dad. When my son, Paul, asked me to write on his blog this week, the first thing that came to my mind was fear. It would be opening my soul and letting people reach in and possibly tearing my heart out.
I thought for sure that I had written a response to this, "your life story". As your older brother, I can reassure everyone that reads this, "look into the 'soul' of my sibling", that it is true from my point of view. Tom is an inspiration to me and continues to make me want to be a less selfish person. After reading the "Purpose Driven Life" by Warren (Tom gave me my own copy), I saw what a long commitment he has made to being "more like Jesus". I am still overwhelmed by most of the recommendations in this volume.
to Grand Papa Fickes,
I thought for sure that I had written a response to this, "your life story".
Go Papa Fickes! I get a sense of significance from scripture, discovering and learning in general, and now from being a dad!
